Island Stay is the data controller responsible for your personal information. We operate in full compliance with the UK Data Protection Act 2018, the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the specific territorial laws of the Bailiwick of Guernsey and the Bailiwick of Jersey.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information necessary to facilitate travel bookings, provide customer assistance, and ensure secure authentication:

  • Contact & Account Info: Name, email address, phone number, and authentication IDs provided via Clerk.
  • Reservation Details: Travel dates, guest counts, room selections, and special host requests.
  • Financial Data: Payments are processed via Stripe; credit card details are encrypted directly by Stripe and are never stored on Island Stay servers.
  • Telemetry & Usage: Aggregated browsing data and site analytics processed via PostHog in EU cloud regions.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your information is used solely to process confirmed reservations, issue booking vouchers, transmit necessary guest manifests to accommodation hosts, and dispatch transactional email receipts via Resend. We do not sell or monetize personal data to third-party advertising brokers.

4. Your Rights

Under applicable data protection legislation, you retain the right to access, rectify, port, or request erasure of your personal data at any time. To exercise your rights, please submit a request to privacy@islandstay.co.uk.
