1. About Island Stay

Island Stay operates as an online marketplace connecting travellers with verified accommodation hosts, boutique hotels, activity providers, and transport operators across the Channel Islands (Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney, Sark, and Herm). Island Stay facilitates the booking contract directly between the guest and the individual property or tour partner.

2. Booking & Payment Processing

All accommodation and experience prices are quoted in British Pounds Sterling (£ GBP) and include applicable local taxes. When you confirm a booking, your payment is processed securely via Stripe.

Island Stay charges a service fee (typically 12%) which is clearly itemised before payment. The remaining balance is disbursed to the partner in accordance with our partner settlement terms.

3. Cancellations & Refunds

Cancellation policies vary by property and rate tier:

• Flexible: Full refund up to 48 hours prior to the standard check-in time.
• Moderate: Full refund up to 7 days before check-in; 50% refund thereafter.
• Non-refundable: No refunds permitted once booked, unless cancellation is due to documented island transport cancellation.

4. Inter-Island Travel & Weather Disruptions

Travel between Guernsey, Jersey, Sark, Herm, and Alderney is subject to tidal, maritime, and atmospheric conditions. Where sea or air carrier services are officially cancelled by operators (e.g. Isle of Sark Shipping, Condor Ferries, Aurigny), partner hosts are required to work reasonably with guests to reschedule or adjust accommodation dates.
